To Check Usage Types

Former Member

Hi,

Is there a way to check the usage types installed in a landscape.

1. I have the following showing up in the SAP Status screen.

SAP_ABA

SAP_BASIS

PI_BASIS

SAP_BW

BI_CONT

I am assuming I have - AS-ABAP, BI from this.

2. When I type the following URL, I get a welcome screen:

http://abcbw.xyz.com:8000/irj/portal

From the above, I am inferring that I have the following installed: AS-Java,BI-Java and EP. Is this right? Is there a better and sure way of checking the install?

Rgds

Try the J2EE Engine Start page and then select "System Information". That should provide you with details on what Software Components are installed and based on that you will be able to figure out the usage type.

Solution Manager (SM) will also provide similar info if the SM is configured properly.

You have to access J2EE Engine start page using browser. It will be something like this

http://<hostname>:500XX/index.html

In Solution Manager you can go to <b>SMSY</b> tcode and then check for your system, however SM needs to be well integrated.

Hope it Helps

Thanks Chetan

I tried the foll URL

http://sapbws.ABC.com:8000/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo

It doesn't accept my UID and PWD that was created in BI. It doesn't accept the SAP* UID as well. Is there any specific startup UID for this?

The id will need J2EE admin auths.

I would advocate for your Basis to step in ,as all the steps(transactions/table names) i walked you through are for Basis and seldom does BW developer/architect knows it or suppose to know it.

Dont ask me how i know it please ,am not Basis either

Hope it Helps

Thanks Chetan.

The problem is that my BASIS is guy is not around right now.I am trying to work my way through an issue:

1. I found some missing icons in the nav. block of my query output through browser

2. I thought it was due to some BI-Java config issue

3. I tried: http://sapbws.xyz.com:50000/sap/monitoring/systeminfo.This would help me chek. The I tried: http://sapbws.xyz.com:50000/NWA for configuring the template.

In both cases I have been stuck with the UID/PWD. Hence the post

If you click the cimponent info in status screen, you will also see the support package stuff.

There is a transaction to see the OSS notes applied. (NOTES).

Hi Ravi,

I got this from the Component Info Screen. I was wondering if there was any other way to verify in detail, especially the java stuff. I am having some issues with rendering in the browser for which I want to double check the installation.

I am not much sure about these basis tcodes, but check if SMICM tcode can help you. You can check the profile paramters using RZ20/RZ21 for the installed components.
