Exporting cube data in Excel or csv format

Hi Guys,

I am trying to export data in cube to local directory in Excel spreadsheet or .CSV format. The cube contains close to one million records. Is there any best way to export the data. Is there any limit on number of records in csv format

In cube manage, in menu i see export spreadsheet option. But i think it will limit to 65535. I am trying to export in batches.

Is there any best way so that I can export as many records as possible?

Thank you

You make your selections in " fields for selection" in list cube.

When you get the screen, make entry for selections. (for example material from 1 - 1000000 , or some thing like that). Once you get the output on the screen export.

Also, you said you wish to use this data in other system. IN that case, try direct RFC or info spoke. That is more efficient and you dont have any limitations.

Thank you guys. I will try that. I dont have the system available now. Also I am trying to have this data portable. So I will try to break the data into batches and export.

Thanks a lot. Points awarded.

Hi,

65535 is the restriction of Microsoft Excel.

If you use notepad to verify the data, you dont have this restriction.

You can use Open Hub to extract to CSV

You dont have the limit for CSV files.

But, may I know the reason for the export. You can selectively export based on some char selections.

Just want to use this cube data on a different system for practice purposes. I can try exporting based on selections. Also where do I export using CSV format.

In the menu List -> export it has word processing/spreadsheet/localfile options.

i selected local file and it has unconverted/spread sheet/rich text format/HTML/clipboard option.

can you tell me where do i export using CSV format? I will try using the above options with selection.

Thanks

you dont have CSV option there. you can download to spread sheet, then you have to open in excel and save as csv by selecting the file type as CSV
