XSA does not run

Hello,

My Express HANA 2.0 did not start anymore. This has been resolved with note 2080933 (see

https://answers.sap.com/questions/232580/hana-express-hdb-daemon-not-running.html.

)

Now I have the problem that the xsa-services do not start anymore:

Among the trace files I do not even find something xsa-related like xscontroller_0.log, ... It seems that the systems not even attempts to launch xsa when starting up.

What is missing? What can be done?

Thanks, Ingo

    Hello Ingo:

    First, I would recommend making sure that the XSA processes are not running. You can do that by running

    "HDB info | grep 'vmtag=xscontroller'".

    If the xscontroller is running, you will see a long command line that contains the following excerpts:

    /hana/shared/HXE/xs/bin/../sapjvm_8/bin/java ... -Dcom.sap.jvm.vmtag=xscontroller...

    If xscontroller is running, then try running "xs login -a https://hxehost:39030" and entering the xsa_admin password when prompted.

    If xscontroller is not running, make sure that your daemon.ini file is configured to start the xs processes. In a typical HANA Express configuration daemon.ini will be located here: /usr/sap/HXE/HDB90/hxehost/daemon.ini.

    It should include the following configuration to be sure that the xscontroller, the xsexecagent and the xsuaaserver all start. "Instances=1" means that the process will be started when the server is started.

    ####################################

    [xscontroller]

    instances = 1

    [xsexecagent]

    instances = 1

    [xsuaaserver]

    instances = 1

    ####################################

    Regards,

    Carl
