Hi folks,

Hope all of you are doing fab.

which services/instance go down when we perform sps or ehp upgrade with help of SPAM or SUM tool?

in terms of services/instances , i am talking about application,dialogue,ascs/scs or central instance.

Also what is the downtime phase in SPAM? like in SUM downtime phase usually comes during execution, so what is the phase in SPAM?

Waiting for your quick reply.

Hi Abhinav,

when you do an Upgrade/Update with SUM all the systems will be shutdown during system downtime.

When you do SPAM/SAINT the systems are not shutdown, but you have a technical downtime. No user should change anything during this time.

You can also do a downtime minimize modus using SPAM. In this case you can run all the imports until IMPORT1 module has been finished and the technical downtime is in the IMPORT2 module (please check note 744343 for more information).

Regarding SPAM <=> SUM: Please check note 1803986 for more information when to use either SUM or SPAM.

Cheers,
Andreas
