File adapter - File created time

Hi All,

We have a File Interface where PI File adapter is creating a File.

We all know that we can see the "created date time" in the file properties.

As the data is huge I would like to know if that "Created date time" is generated when the file is first created OR when the file is completely written ?

Regards

Tarang

The file Properties usually have :

Created : The time at which file was created.

Modified : This is the time where the writing into the file was most recently done.

On file systems that support the creation time / birth time or however you want to call it, that time stamp captures the time when the file was first created. If it takes a certain time to write the full file, that timestamp would reflect the start time of the writing process. The modification timestamp on the other hand will reflect the time of the end of a write process as a write operation typically consists of multiple partial writes. Just opening a file in write mode or closing write mode will not cause a modification to the time stamp.

You mean the timestamp option added in the file channel or the logs in the message monitoring?
