HANA Tables Vs Tables created in SE11 as Column storage

Hello All..

As we know, we can create a Table in SE11 as column storage and it would be visible in HANA Studio as well. But while created a Table in HANA Studio it's not visible in SE11.

So My 1st Question is what the reason behind that.

Question 2: if we can create a Table in SE11 as column storage then why an ABAPer would create a HANA Table in HANA Studio.

This might be extended to CDS as well.

Thanks,
Sanket Sethi

Hi Sanket,

Tables in HANA can be created via SQL command, HANA studio and SE11 (application end).

For Q1. This should not happen that the table created in studio is not visible in SE11. Did you create the table in right schema?

For Q2. There is not need to create the table again in HANA studio

Thanks for the Explaination. However I just want to know if we can create a table in SE11 and it's visible in HANA studio as well. Then what is the significance to create table in HANA studio instead of SE11.

I guess, it all depends upon us, on how comfortable we are using a given method.

Using any of the mentioned methods the end result remains the same i.e a table gets created in HANA DB.

That's fine but as I assume there might be some limitations while we create Tables from SE11 instead of HANA Studio. And I am looking for those points, as I can't found the same in SDN sites.
