Handling Unit Item serial number

Hello to all, I have an issue in a specific material in an outbound delivery.

I have created the Outbound Delivery for an STO, inside of it I have material A that for both plants there is set a Z003 Serial profile...if I pack the material, a HU is created and if I go to the details I see the material but, if I clic in Serial Nos button the system show this error: "Material A is not a serialized material. No maintenance possible".

Here I have a doubt, as this is the first time we customized HU management, perhaps we dont fully know how it works...Until now We used to create the Outbound delivery, then mark the item and we used to add all serial numbers in "Extras - Serial numbers"....right now, if we do the same and after go to pack the materiales, when we go to see the detail of the HU created then in the Serial Nos button the system shows that message...

Are we missing something in the middle?

Jürgen, I did search first in SCN but I saw many posts of how to set a SN for the HU, but nothing related to the item itself. Any idea?

Thanks in advance!

Ignacio

Hi,

Have you followed the below steps and getting this error/information message?Your pakg. material tab should not be blank,it seems there is something wrong.

1) Click the Pack per part Qty Icon 2) System find valid packaging material 3) Select packaging material and enter 4) Select the Ttl tab 5) Select materials that require a Serial Number 6) Click the Serial No. icon 7) Enter Serial Number for each material 8) Save the delivery

Regards,

Avik

This is an old question, but the behavior described could be that the Serial Number Profile is missing a serialization procedure for handling units.
