Hi Expert,
I have 2 global RKF (RKF1 & RKF2) in infoprovider and 1 global calculated KF(CKF1). My formula is CKF1 = RKF1*RKF2. When I used the keyfigure CKF1 in the query it seems that it also perform the calculation in hierarchy nodes which should not. I tried to set the setting in calculating before aggregation but it is not possible. I also read about exceptional aggregation but I could not find it in the setting of my CKF.
Can anyone help me on this issue. I'm currently using BW3.5* version.
Thank you for your helps in advance.
Hi Ted,
It seems this type of hierarchy node calculation is not possible for Calculated KF and Formulas . Here is a OSS note which says this is not an error and there is no option to nevertheless force the display of a total.
Note 789404 - Hierarchy node does not show the total of the nodes & leaves.
But you can always do this calculation at the backend. And use it for reporting.
Thanks,
Sandesh

Try to use a local formula in your query = RKF1*RKF2. Not CKF1. Sometimes, global calculated KF will not work correctly.
Good Luck,

Hi CL,
Thank you for your help. I did what you said by creating local formula and also set the properties to Calculated result as "Summation" but still didn't work. I got a warning message:
"The function 'Calculate Results as ...' could not be used in all
instances.
The recalculation of a result cell always occurs based on the set of
detatiled cells subordinated to this cell. This is the most detailed
level of the drilldown. Therefore it is not posible to recalculate in
hierarchical lists. The calculation of a results cell is not performed
if a cell or column with an expand symbol is assigned beneath it.
Otherwise the newly calculated result is changed every time one of its
lower-level nodes is expanded. This is not supported for technical
reasons and would also only confuse users."
Do you have any ideas regarding this message.
Best Regards,
ted
Hi Oscar,
Thank you for quick responce.
We need the nodes to be sum up to its parent node.
Anymore ideas.
Thank you
