Install ABAP 7.5 Error

Can anyone help with the error message I’m receiving while trying to install ABAP 7.5. Error message states ‘Abort execution because of step returns nw.syscopy.storagecopy.HostIsNotLocal’

The hostname check was compliant when executing ./install.sh.

Hi Matthew,

please check your /tmp/sapinst_instdir directory. One file could be the sapinst_dev.log. Further files are referenced in this one or in logs which are written nearly at the same time. Please check them for errors and attach them (please also see note 2142461).

I have since removed the old installation and started again I’m now getting a different error message stating that “the hostname you have configured is either on a loopback adapter or not active on the server, please check configuration and hostname selection. If you are confident about your choice of hostname start the install script with -s flag to skip the hostname.

I have entered the commands as per instruction 20 to 21. Both the hosts and hostname file show the correct values. The network settings in YAST are shown below.

I do have another version of ABAP 7.3 installed on the machine. Would this make a difference?

Can you help? I am also waiting for a response from Julie Plummer from SAP on the same issue from an old question I posted.

What are the file names and where do I find them? This installation in on Linux operating system
