Hi All,

is there a way of transferring stock from one storage location to the other, within same Plant with one Warehouse structure, using 311 mvt without generate any WM mvt. If i set on MIGO "no Transfer Requirement", in this case i have to perform manually TO creation to align WM (921 UML-ZONE). As storage locations belong to the same warehouse i'd move material/batch only at IM level, without generate any plus/minus at WM side.

Thanks in advance

and how should the storage location in your quant (LQUA table) change to the new location if you have no WM movements?

I understand your point. So is there anyway to minimise SAP WM activities, pheraps generating only one TR instead of 2 for 311 IM mvt? I know that i can modify some customizing setting in IM-WM interface node but actually it's not clear to me how to do.

Thanks

Why is it generating two TRs? It should be generating one Transfer Posting with two lines. Can you attach a screen shot?

If your goal is to reduce the number of transactions that the end-user has to do, you have a number of options

  • Setup Automatic TOs with Automatic Confirmations for the transfer postings. This will still need monitoring because there are several reasons why the WM movement can fail - open TOs, bin blocks, etc. This will also only work when you have entire quantities of a material or material/batch being moved. If only partials are moved the system will not know which WM bin to pick from.
  • Set up storage location control in the warehouse. This assumes that the material is physically moving from one bin to another. Each of the bins (really storage types) are associated with a storage location. The IM movement automatically takes place in the background. One of the links Manish has provided discusses this.
  • Use LQ02. This does the posting change with a WM approach, where you are declaring which quants you are doing the posting change on. Again see the links Manish has provided. This is a PC based and has minimal impact with some user re-training - "If warehouse use LQ02, if IM use MIGO".
  • Custom Z-frontend. This can be particularly attractive if you have an RF barcoding system in place. The user can walk up to the bin, scan the bin and material and enter which storage location they want to transfer it to. The custom posting logic can take care of doing the MIGO followed by the Transfer Order creation and confirmation all in one step (as far as the end user is concerned).
