hi,

how to migration of Customer Master Data from legacy system to R/3, for updating the records in Customer Master Using LSMW

My concern is that the client is decomissioning his current Legacy system & is going for SAP. So they want their legacy data to be up-loaded to SAP. There are various ways to migrate the legacy data to SAP( using LSMW & other standalone tools provided by different vendors ). One such tool is SAP- DART i.e Data Retention Tool . But i donot know how to go about it..The client needs to migrate his legacy data thru DART alone.

I have worked on SAP DaRT . But i dont know how to link the Legacy system to SAP so that I can migrate this legacy data into SAP.

Please help me if anybody can throw some light on this matter.

Hi Krishna,

You can use the standard batch input program RFBIDE00 in LSMW to update the customer master data. However, there might be scenarios where you might be required to update the fields which do not get updated by the standard bacth input program. If any of such fields are defined as mandatory, then you wont be able to use this method directly.

In such cases you will have to either create a recording to poplate the fields which do not get updated by the standard program and use both the recording and the standard batch input program to update the customer master data OR create a recording for customer master create and use the same in LSMW.
