Unable to edit values of key figures in Excel, when logged in with IBP planning area.

Hello Experts,

I am logged into Excel, with IBP (Planning area ZSDCIBP1 is a copy of std. planning area SAPIBP1)

I am using the std. template 'DP 110 Historical data cleanse' for demand and trying to edit some of the values for the key figure 'Delivery adjusted Qty'.

The problem I am facing is that for two of my product-location-customer combinations, I am able to make changes but not for the rest.

Since my forecast model specifies 24 historical periods, so, I am trying to put a value for every month starting July 2015 to June 2017.

After entering the value, I click on 'Save data' under the section 'Data input'. In the pop-up screen that comes up (Save key figure changes), I choose the reason code and press 'Save' but when it returns to earlier screen, the entered value disappears.

In Fiory, I have checked the key figure properties for ADJUSTEDDELIVQTY.

The 'Edit allowed' parameter is 'All editable' and the checkboxes for both 'stored' and 'Calculated' are ticked.

Then , why cannot I edit the values in excel?

I am also not getting any statistical forecast values for these product-location-customer combinations when I run the forecast.

I have been able to get around this problem.

I was trying to edit the key figure data while my time period was monthly. Instead, I changed the time period to weekly and added values for the missing weeks. Then I simulated and saved the data. Now, when I moved back to monthly time period, I can see that the values are updated accordingly. In fact, I am even able to change them now, while retaining the time period as monthly only.

I wonder if this is a bug.

Go to Master -> Single -> Choose 'Unit of Measure Conversion Factor'

Choose the Product ID and its UOM TO ID and its Conversion factor.

You might be knowing this theory, but to put it in Simple terms.

Product: Coca Cola 1 Liter

Base UOM : EA (Each Unit: This will be maintained in Product master data)

UOM TO ID: CA (Carton: Where the 6 individual coca cola EA are packed and placed in one box carton. This UOM TO ID master data has to be maintained separately)

UOM Conversion Factor: Here u maintain the records like Product Id: Coc-cola; Uom TO ID: CA; UOM Convertion Factor: 6

With this type of configuration, user can plan at any level, by selecting the right uom conversions.

Even the Key figures will be auto converted on the fly based on the conversion factor. For example: If "Consensus Demand" for coca-cocla (EA) is 600...the demand for cartons is 100

Please maintain the above configuration and see if it works

Thanks

Hello Venkat,

Thanks for your quick response but I am not clear what I need to check. Can you please elaborate it at bit?

I tried to check the master data record from excel by clicking on Manage->Single, in the section 'Master data' from my excel (IBP tab) sheet and these are the master data options I find there.

Do I need to maintain one of these for my product/customer/location? If yes, please specify which one.

Thanks and regards

Check the "UOM Converion Factor" maintained for that combination.

If you are re-using the standard Key Figure, it was configured with default "UOM Conversion Factor".

If there's nothing maintained for that Product-UOM-UOM To combination....there will be NULL in the table. So system multiplies ur manual input values and does the conversion which might resulting the NULL values

Check that out

This is an old post but as with many things in the SAP community they don't die old and they are extremely helpful.

A big thank you to VenKat and I hope you are still around. I puzzled (understatement) because I couldn't tell what was happening. I followed VenKat advice and bingo, that was the issue.

Thanks as well to PAPRI RUDRA for posting the question
