Hi everybody,
I`m creating a freestyle site in the portal service at SCP. The Fiori Shell header which is available out-of-the-box is not covering the requirements.
I tried to customize the shell by deploying and configuring a shell plugin. However, the approach won`t work as there are still to many restrictions (e.g. headeritems can only be embedded as icons etc.) so I would like to deactivate the standard shell and implement my own shell.
What is the best way to do so taking into consideration that the shell will be part of freestyle site published via the portal service?
Hi Matthias,
1. You can "hide" the Shell header in the site settings configuration.
2. To create your own header - you can edit one of the existing page templates (like the Header and Footer page template) and add the reacquiring content to it.
3. Alternatively you can use the Portal tools available in the SAP Web IDE to develop your own Site Template. In this development project you can create your custom page templates and develop the custom header according to your needs.
For more information, take a look at the SAP Cloud Platform Portal Developers Guide.
Regards, Ido
