Background Job

We are having some issues with background jobs. The QA system was refreshed from the PRD system last week. After this we are not able to execute background jobs.
What happens is that when we try to execute the background job, it goes to released from scheduled and after that it cancels itself off (after few minutes)
We have confirmed that there are sufficient background processes available. The user who is executing this sufficient priviledges for the same.
