Hello BW Experts,
We are in the debating to start the BI 7.0 implementation or not. your experience with the new implementions could help us to decide.
what are the major problems of BI 7.0 ( backend)
please share your experience. If possible we could make this a list.
Thanks in advance,
BWer
Hello,
first of all, if you upgrade to BI 7.0 all the BI 3.5 features are still available.
You are not forced to use any new feature of BI7.0 (except process chains and authorisations)
So this means, after your technical upgrade you can decide to use which new feature or function you really need and you want to use. eg. BIA. To leverage the BIA you just need to perform a technical upgrade to BI 7.0. All 3.5 queries can leverage the BIA. All you need to do is deleting your aggregates
The technical upgrade is not that issue and is usually done very fast.
I hope this helps,
Michael

Depends on FEP and SP what u are going to start with.
We started with FEP 7 and SP 7 and had lot of issues which were fixed in later FEP and SP.
Front end Issues compared to 3.5:
FEP 12 and SP 11.
