Solman install on Windows/MS SQL Server - remote db host

Is it recommended/possible to install Solution Manager on an application server and point to a remote database server? Or should the database reside on the same physical server?

Hi Glen

It is possible to install Solution Manager on application server by using the MCOD concept. Because Solution Manager would use its own database.

But it is not recommended to install solution manager on application server as it woud have its own resource consumption.

It depends on scenario for which you want to configure solution manager in landscape.
