Tool to compare exisitng BPs with SAP Model company prior buying S/4 HANA license?

A Question which pop-up in everybody's mind during Transition to S/4 HANA on-premise. Where can we compare the deviations of Business processes and focus on only critical/relevant ones ?

I have gone thru few documents like "Transition to S/4 HANA" Implementation Roadmap, which accommodate all scenarios .i.e New Implementations / System conversion / Landscape Transformation but I have failed to identify nor come across any information on tool which can help consultants or customers to compare the existing Business processes with the proposed SAP model company BPs.

If SAP is trying to streamline their existing customers under single platform and align them with SAP's ongoing Innovations as onetime fix then comparison tool become pre-requisite ?

To my understanding TQM will come into picture and guide only if customer opts for SAP Value Assurance Services and purchase the S/4 HANA License but is there an option for Business to compare BPs prior buying S/4 HANA license?

With my experience and I believe, success of such large business transformation can be achieved only if efforts involved in transformation is very minimal to Business/Users .i.e. by providing quick conversion tools and methodologies to help Business processes owners/Key Users/Business users to quickly understand the entire deviations and provide a alternate solutions in Graphical mode/Flow charts. So that it can help in making decision easy on further step.

Am not sure if Solman 7.2 is already addressing this GAP or is there any 3P tools to address this ?

I think instead of just looking at Best Practice or Model Company you need to do a holistic check on what Business process you run currently that will be impacted when you move to S/4(either greenfield or brownfield). IBM has a HANA Impact Assessment tool that can help. Once you have done the assessment, use it as the foundation and then check if BP or Model company will match your current Business process.

Agree with you on the holistic check but to my understanding this is already taken care by SAP during Readiness Check as Frank stated in his earlier reply. Whether IBM has better tool compared to SAP ? Interesting to know at this stage 🙂

How do we get access to this tool ? Is there a trail version to try before with buy this tool ?

Is this Cloud based or On-Premise tool ?

Can we use this tool without Solman or is there any dependencies with 3P tools?

Vivek,

The IBM tool provides a more detailed overview of functional processes. It does leverage SAP best practices so there is some overlap. It doesn't require Solution Manager and the solution is Cloud Based running on Bluemix.

Since May 29th there is the SAP Readiness Check for SAP S/4HANA. I would recommend that you Start SAP S/4HANA Planning with Readiness Check because it should answer your questions.

I have gone through the Snote 2290622 & 2443236 but I see SAP is more focused on Technical aspects rather Business processes (Existing and New) in S/4 HANA Implementation (On-premise).

And Readiness check dashboard currently showing info more on Custom code/Recommend for Fiori/Add-on Compatibility/DB sizing/Active Business functions and finally Transactions with DB details. But I was looking for a BPs comparison tool which can help customers to compare the deviations of their existing business processes steps with new S/4 HANA system (Preferably in PRD).

To quote with an example : In S/4 HANA O2C or Sales & Distribution cycle, Credit Management is completely Inactive and now all transaction related to Credit release and checks are managed by Finance team. So in this case, how can a Implementation partner educate Business processes owner on transactions vanished or replaced in BP cycle in a single screen during GO/NO-GO workshops ?

Further to my knowledge - Readiness Check can be initiated only during Discover phase as per the Roadmap ACTIVATE .i.e. post buying the S/4 HANA Value Assurance Package ?
