Present our SAP Router installed OS is windows 2003, Can We Upgrade to Windows 2012 R2?

Hi,

We are on SAP R/3 enterprise 4.7x200 , OS - AIX, DB - DB2 and SAP Router installed on Windows 2003.

Thus, I want to know about the compatibility of the SAP Router for Windows 2012 R2 , Because We are doing upgrade only SAP Router installed operating system

Our current SAP Router version is 700 and I would like to know if this is compatible with windows 2012 R2 or should we upgrade to latest SAP Router ?

I did research on SCN forums, notes but could not find information on this.

P.S - I believe SAP Router version should not be a concern and there should be no compatibility with the SAP Product Releases.

Thank you

    Hi ,

You can use saprouter 700 on Windows server 2012 R2.

You can also upgrade the saprouter.

Make sure to install the appropiate C-runtime(s) on your Windows OS depending on the version.

See more information in blog :

Few additional notes on top of Manues's reply:

SAP Router is just a component and you are going for the latest version of OS - so it works and it is always recommended to have latest versions from OS/DB/SAP point of view

Risk you are carrying is on your SAP system - 4.7 is out of support by SAP (Other than for customer specific) and Windows 2003 is also unsupported (Not sure on Database versions)...So plan and upgrade all these components to latest one so that you won't get into support specific issues.
