how to build a customer filter option

Hi there,

I'd like to implement a filter option in a module pool that I'm building but I've found a function that does so and it uses objects, so it's appropiate to use it when codifying filters in ALV's. I'd like to know if there is such an option isolated from objects because I need to apply the filter to a table control.
