Controlling which report parameters are exposed to a user running a Crystal Report

We have a web based software with customers using the online application. The data is housed in MySQL tables and each table has a subscriber code. Subscribers using the online application can only see their data because the subscriber code allows us to segregate the data before it is displayed. I have written some Crystal Reports that I want to expose, via Crystal Server, to the user community. Each report will have "report parameters" and the first parameter is always "Subscriber code". I want the subscriber code to be "Locked down" so that the subscriber who is trying to run a report cannot change the value of this parameter, but still have access to change all the other parameters that are in the report. Can this be done? If so, how?

I found a similar kind of question at and the answer seems to be "YES". However I don't see the step-by-step solution. It is in the archives now so there is no way to get more details.
