Dear SAP Gurus,

Please help me to get rid of the traces like jco_rfc*****_**********.001.trc which is being dumped inside /usr/sap/SID/J02/j2ee/cluster/server0 regularly and occupying lot of space. Because of this the file system is getting filled. Also I could see a huge 7gb CPIC*.trc trace file. Please help to either deactivate such tracing or something other useful. Please note that its DUAL stack system with NW7.3 therefore if you ask me to do something to do in VISUAL admin or config tool then guide me to the appropriate location on NWA.

Regards,

Abhishek

Hello Abhishek,

You might as well check what is being logged on the traces. Maybe there is something that needs attention :o).

Hi Isaias,

I can see multiple entries of SAP_CMACCPTP in the CPIC170705_103054156.trc, below are the repetitive entries looks like

[Thr 140520595777280] *************** SAP_CMACCPTP *************** [Thr 140520595777280] SAP_CMACCPTP: reg_hook = 9 [Thr 140520595777280] SAP_CMACCPTP: handle = 178 [Thr 140520595777280] SAP_CMACCPTP: NI handle = 97 [Thr 140520595777280] SAP_CMACCPTP: timeout = 2 [Thr 140520595777280] SAP_CMACCPTP: convid = H97 [Thr 140520595777280] STIAsRcvFromGw: timeout value: 2000 [Thr 140520595777280] STINiRead(97,7fcdbd22e060,32080,2000) [Thr 140520570562304] STINiRead (NIETIMEOUT) [Thr 140520570562304] STIAsRcvFromGw: timeout during NiRead (0 bytes received) [Thr 140520570562304] SAP_CMACCPTP: timeout after 2 secs [Thr 140520570562304] STISearchConv: found conv without search [Thr 140520570562304] *************** SAP_CMACCPTP *************** [Thr 140520570562304] SAP_CMACCPTP: reg_hook = 21 [Thr 140520570562304] SAP_CMACCPTP: handle = 190 [Thr 140520570562304] SAP_CMACCPTP: NI handle = 193 [Thr 140520570562304] SAP_CMACCPTP: timeout = 2 [Thr 140520570562304] SAP_CMACCPTP: convid = H193 [Thr 140520570562304] STIAsRcvFromGw: timeout value: 2000 [Thr 140520570562304] STINiRead(193,7fcdbd26bc60,32080,2000) [Thr 140520562157312] STISearchConv: found conv without search

Because of the above entries, this trace file becomes almost a 7gb file. Any suggestions ?

Abhishek

Hi Isaias,

To add on the above I found something more interesting in dev_jrfc.trc, have a look

Error> occurred >Mon Jul 10 16:31:06,532< RfcException: [null] message: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connection parameters: TYPE=B DEST=<Java Rfc client> MSHOST=xxxx R3NAME=XXX GROUP=SPACE PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR partner '10.**.*.***:**00' not reached TIME Mon Jul 10 16:31:06 2017 RELEASE 745 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 40 RC -10 MODULE /bas/745_REL/src/base/ni/nixxi.cpp LINE 3377 DETAIL NiPCoxdd1:pjdadm 110>

This is also repetitive. I think there is some RFC which is trying to connect to the XI JAVA stack or some JCO connection which is trying the same again and again and it needs SAP GATEWAY whose connection is getting failed as we can see above. Also I check the GATEWAY process using ps -ef command and i can see it running. Please suggest.

Abhishek

Hello Abhishek,

Indeed, it seems that a JCO is trying to connect to a gateway over and over again.

You would need to identify which JCO, and adjust the connection settings.

Based on the entries that you shared, it seems that the JCO is using load balance.

If the connection details are correct, then verify whether the IP address of the target system (seen at the error entry) is the correct IP.

This could be a DNS issue as well.

Isaías

Hi Prithvi,

Nice to hear from you, could you please let me know where could I find this parameter

-Djco.trace_level=<0..10>

Because I could not find it in Config tool. This is NW7.3.

Regards,

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

Add to the "Java parameters" the line -Djco.trace_level=<trace_level> -Djco.trace_path=<path>

Please see sapnote 628962.

You will require a system restart to bring the change in effect.

Regards,

Prithviraj.
