Copying a key figure to SNP Planning Area without reference to Base UOM

Hi

I am updating a table from R/3 in APO and populating the same value in SNP Planning area. The default UOM of my planning book is KG. But the unit of measure of the key figure that I am updating could be KG or gallon or LB. I have written a macro to populate the value in the planning book. But since the UOM of my key figure and planning area does not match. One reason that I think is due to the fact that I have maitnained the conversion factors in UOM tab in the product master. But I dont want the system to consider those UOM conversions and want the correct value to be posted.

Can I make my key figure unit less while posting it in the planning area(planning book)

Am I missing any configuration change?
