Hi
I have succesfully loaded data for the 0FI_GL04 ODS but it is failing on activation with the following error: -
Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT table 0POSTXT
Value '# ' (hex. '23 ') of characteristic 0POSTXT contains invalid characters
Process 000061 returned with errors
I have the '# ' as a permitted charcter in IMG so does anyone have any ideas why this is failing.
I do have generate SIDS ticked on the ODS as this will be used for reporting and it supposedly makes it more efficient if done when loading....not this time )
Any ideas
Andy
Hi,
0posttxt field contains the invalid chars #, you can execute this chars in RSKC Tcode or and try to activate it otherwise if you are loading data from PSA you can edit it there and repeat the load, and activate the ODS. you can get the record details in monitor details tab.

Hi,
this is not a "problem"; if you want to report on your ODS you'll have to mark the BEx reporting indicator. As soon as you do that, the activation of a request will check the SIDs of your IObjs. If an IObj master data ID doesn't have a SID the system will need to generate (for reporting). If your master data ID doesn't cope with the rules (permitted chars, lower case chars...) you'll get this errmsg.
hope this explain your issue;
Olivier.
if you have invalid charaters, then add them in the permitted characters via RSKC.
If you don't want to add them then write a routine in order to cope with the rules.
What I did is to create a ZIObj and update these "free text" in the ZIOBj Text during the transactional load. Texts are definitively not as restrictive as master data IDs.
hope this helps...
Olivier.
