Changing an extension field type

Hi All,

In C4C, is it possible to change the field type of an existing extension field? I have an extension field that is LIST type, but i want the users to be able to select multiple values now. Can i change it to MULTIVALUED LIST type?

Or do i need to create a new extension field of that type, migrate the existing data to that field and remove the old field?

Or do i have any other options?

Hello Mr. Mark,

We double checked your scenario with our infrastructure colleagues and the answer is no, you cannot simply change the type of a extension field after its creation. This could seriously compromise the data integrity and eventual logic applied on already present data. So, to avoid this, once created there is no way to change the field type.
