Changing the BW background user (default)

I have a question that I'm hoping you all can help with. After upgrading our BW system to NW 2004s we noticed that there is a new feature in the Process Chains. It now give you the option of changing the user that the PC runs under. What we are having an issue with is the user that pops up as the "BW Background User".

We would like to change this but can't seem to find where this is maintained. Do you have any ideas?

We tried in the SPRO under SAP NetWeaver -> Business Intelligence -> Automated Processes ->Create User for Background Processes.

But when we try to enter a new user there we get the following. I don't have access to user maintenance so I'm waiting to hear back from my security people. I think they're not really sure them selves what to make of this.

Error Message:

Changes not allowed in this system (central user administration active)

Message no. 01323

Diagnosis

You have attempted to change user data. This system is part of a system infrastructure that uses central user maintenance. The settings here specify that certain data is allowed to be maintained either only in the central system or only in a dependent system. According to these settings, this action is not permitted in this system.

System Response

No data is changed.

Procedure

If you are logged on to a dependent system, make the changes in the central system. If you are logged on to the central system, make the changes in the dependent systems.

Anyhow, any help that you all could provide on this would be great.

Thanks,

René Jorges
