APO - SNP Planning Book - Macro Calculation for Initial Stock Balance.

Hi,

I am running into the issue with "Stock Balance" Macro. This macro is calculating Stock in Initial column with INITIAL_STOCK function + Total Receipts - Total Demand. But it INITIAL_STOCK shows different no than what is shown by CC Category.

Can someone help ?.

HI

The macro could be calculating correctly, note that the value in this key figure for the initial column is not a total of all the CC records. It also adds in all receipt elements prior to todays date and subtracts all requirements elements prior to todays date, eg as you state the calculation is doing = initial stock + receipts - demand.

The reason is that APO assumes that for receipts prior to today, they have already been executed to plan and therefore are now part of your stock, so adds these to the stock figure held in the system.

You can check this by looking at transaction /sapapo/rrp3 - Product View.

Select the product and location you are looking at in your planning book.

Look at the Available Column, you will see your CC category stock and also any receipt or requiremnet elements prior to today. Read down the available column until you come to the present time, the value here should be the same as your initial stock value in the planning book.

Hi Ketan,

Please check what category group is defined in Loaction master for which you refering an issue.

INITIAL_STOCK macro function reads the data from Stock category group in Location master under SNP tab. If that field is blank then by default it reads CC category.

My doubt is a bit related to this INITIAL_STOCK

When this function gets executed., from where does it extracts the data..? I mean in which key figure does the stock quantity got stored ?

I hope the INITIAL_STOCK function works with respect to the Stock Category Group value.

You can find the value in the location master under the SNP tab.

Initial Stock comes from the category group containing valid order types including CC

Initial stock looks at the master data for the relevant material and sees what category group is set for stock data and aggregates all orders belonging to that categry group till the current date and shows it in the planning book/ masterdata
