Portal Locking Issues

Hello - I am hoping someone is able to assist. We have users in Belgium and other countries who are experiencing this issue (see below) and I am wondering if anyone else has had this and what might be done to resolve. Any help would be appreciated.

The problem shows up in the following way:

Users log into our sap portal and connect to R3 via the javagui

This opens one small session

They use /osmen to open multiple sessions

One of the sessions hangs usually in a pop-up or by clicking on an address etc.

E.g. This is a very common one; in a sales order go to header/partners tab and double click on the ship-to address

All the other sessions are still active but to get out of the hanging one you must close your initial session and then close your browser otherwise you get a "shared.platin" error when you try to get back in

So all work is lost and it take about 5 minutes to come out and go back

I would say all the users here in CH & AT have experienced this problem at least once a day

Here are some other clues:

It does not happen in CITRIX or full client

Most users are getting JAVA version warnings when they log in saying they must be at a particular version when in fact they are already have a version higher than that

A number of the users have Explorer 7, but it is not restricted to these users
