We are planing to use System replication to change our Production HANA Hardware ( 3TB ==>6 TB) . Our old Hardware is having lower HANA version i.e. Rev 96 and our target hardware is having 122_8 HANA version. We have successfully migrated our database from old to new test environment using System replication. During this process we have noticed that version 96 wiping out some of the existing feature of HANA SPS 12 like System replication roles was missing in HANA DB, hence no system replication tile on HANA cockpit. I have tried to find documentation related to this issue.

I have reimported Delivery Unit ZHANA_ADMIN.tgz & HANA_UI_INTEGRATION_1_SVC.tgz after replication to bring missing role and System Replication Tile" .

But I am not sure how many packages are affected due to this replication and how many delivery units i have to reimport again to system? Is there a safe way to do such task?

I have to plan my production accordingly.

Thanks for your input

Hi All,

update with solution; After taken over to new version of HANA DB with system replication, restart of HANA DB server required on new primary server to update. After restart re-import new version of HANA DB repository with below command as sidadm.

This will re-import all delivery unit again.

I hope this information will help to address such kind of issue.
