My requirement is to enable dpserver in daemon.ini. I am not able to find daemon.ini in Configuration Tab in Administration Console in SAP HANA. However, I can manually set the value of Instances to 1 in daemon.ini from server side. But the problem is, whenever I restart the server, the daemon.ini file gets iverwritten by hdbnameserver and hence the Instances of dpserver becomes 0, thereby disapling the dpserver.

Any timely help would be appreciated.

Hello Adarsh,

This sounds as if you were trying to activate the dpserver in the system database of a multi tenant HANA database, which is not possible. You have to activate it in a tenant database instead.

Best regards

Frank

Okay, and what Edition? Base Edition, Platform Edition, Enterprise Edition or even Express Edition?

Hi Frank,

I downloaded the tool via Eclipse. It is Platform Edition.

Hi Frank,

Can you help on this?

Hello Adarsh,

Next I would suggest to check the dpserver trace file. You find this in SAP HANA Studio under Diagnostic Files and it starts with dpserver_.

Best regards

Frank
