Content search for attachments

Hi All,

My first post in the new version of SCN....:)

We are starting the implementation of a fresh SAP project with wide range of modules for an insurance company. Being an insurance firm, the documents received or sent from/to clients or brokers are very important for the company. Hence I would like to know whether there is any way in SAP(Be it ERP or CRM), by which we can search for the attachment contents. I mean, for instance, I want to search a contract which is having an attachment with content 'Policy:82871'. It's not the search just with the name of the document, but I am asking about the content parsing as we have in outlook.

So far in my experience, we don't have such a Document Management System where we can search and thus we are planning to go for a third party DMS.

Thanks a lot in advance for your suggestions.

Update: I believe PLM DMS is not going to suit my requirement. I am not sure though.

Welcome to the new community. I think we need more details to first check if CRM WebClient UI is the right tag for your above question.

I see you have mentioned both ERP and CRM. You also mentioned PLM DMS which belongs to component CA-DMS Document management.

If my understanding is correct, you are asking if there is standard way in SAP PLM DMS to suit your requirement, am I right?

If so, we will help to move your question to PLM DMS related tag.

If not, would you please provide more details and examples, so that we can judge the suitable tag for your question.
