Personas - SP5 just changed all the text alignment on my labels and text fields!

Hi,

We are running Personas 3.0, and our Basis team just applied SP5 (we had been on SP4) in our Dev environment.

Applying the service pack changed the text alignment on all of the labels and text fields in all of my flavors to left-justified.

Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a solution to fix for it? We are still new to Personas, but this is going to cause me a fair amount of work to change every field that needs it back to center or right-justified. This would be a real issue if we had a lot of flavors developed.

I have attached a screenshot of one of my SMEN flavors. All the areas highlighted in yellow should be centered or right-justified. Again, this is just one of many flavors that now has to be repaired.

This happened to me once before. I don't remember if it was when we upgraded to SP4 or not. That would have been early in our process when we would have only had a couple flavors, so it wasn't such a big issue at that time.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Jeff,

Assuming that the system is fully up-to-date with all notes implemented and the latest client note version applied, this shouldn't happen. If it still does, then create an incident so the issue can be analyzed in your environment.

Hi Jeff,

We have just applied SP05 from SP03 and have the exact same problem. I'll be logging a message with SAP later today but if you get an answer or work out the issue can you please share?

Thanks
Jason

Hi Jason, I'll let you know if I find anything; please do the same.

Tamas, In addition to the alignment issue, I've noticed two other items:

  1. The first issue occurred on screens that have what I'll call a "landing" page, such as IW22, IW23 (two screens I'm currently working with). When you launch these t-codes, the screen that first comes up is a very simple page that requests the notification you want to change or display. Once you enter that, you are directed to the "main" page which contains all the information. After SP5 was applied, I needed to recenter my headings on both the landing page and the main page. For IW22, I tried to fix the landing page first, and even though I could recenter the heading, when I saved my change it reverted back to left-justified. I tried that several times to no avail. Finally I gave up and corrected the main page, which it let me do. After I did that, I went back and tried the landing page again. This time it let me save my changes there as well. I verified the same thing with IW23. I can't say for sure if this is purely a SP5 issue as I focused on the main pages first when I developed these flavors under SP4, and then I would have added the flavor for the landing pages.
  2. My flavors for IW21 and IW22 also contain JavaScript to suppress a number of pop-up screens (i.e., wnd[1] screens). My logic was based on Clemens Gantert's Productivity Power Play - he wrote it at Peter's request after I asked a question about it in last month's Personas Practitioners Forum. Anyway, it was working great under SP4, but now my popups are back under SP5. When I investigated that, I discovered that my script routines were no longer associated with the onAfterRefresh screen event. I've tried to add the event back numerous times, but when I save my change and return to edit mode, the change does not get saved. This one is driving me crazy as my users are now getting (and complaining about) a number of pop-up screens which had previously been suppressed.

Thanks to both of you for your help!

One idea coming to mind may be some flavor caching problem... did you try to empty the flavor cache?

Otherwise, of course these should not happen either... so once again, in case you have such reproducible examples, then creating incidents is the way to go.

Hi Jeff,

SAP have replied to my OSS Message and provided the Note 2492281 as per message from Kranthi below.

I can confirm we have implemented and it has corrected our issue, I hope it also corrects the issue for you.

Thanks
Jason

Hi Jeff and Jason,

Regarding the text alignment issue, an SAP Note has just been released to fix the issue:

2492281 - SAP Screen Personas 3.0 SP04/SP05: horizontalAlign property's category is not set correctly when SP03 flavor is updated

After implementing the Note, ensure that you clear the flavor cache from the admin transaction.

Best regards

Kranthi
