Hello guys,
Out of the 3 deployment options stated below, our client wants to go with Option 2.
Here are the below observations I have, Need your advice / clarification on these observations concerning the deployment option 2.
Does the deployment option 2 allow installing and running of SAP standard fiori applications? I feel that this option only allows to deploy custom build fiori applications.
Standard applications comes with Backend & Frontend components and expects the backend components to be installed in the corresponding backend systems. Fiori app library clearly mentions the ECC EHP's and the SP's needed for every fiori backend component. A hub does not have those and hence installing them would fail.
Furthermore service development in the deployment option 2 is also cumbersome. Every metadata for the business data must also be custom created in the hub system. It also requires every F4 and every SELECT / FETCH operation needs to be wrapped up in an RFC call. Adding to that the corresponding FM should also be developed in the respective backend systems because that FM needs to be executed in the remote system/destination.
Hello Milton,
In my experience, option 2 above is rare because of the reasons you mention. If you like, please check out this similar question and answer:
