Create DIR in PLM WEB UI with Internal Number assignment

Hi,

When creating a DIR in the PLM WEB UI and where the Document Type has Internal Number assignment for the field 'Document' on the initial screen this cannot be left blank as an error message displays saying 'Special character "*" is not permitted' - you have to enter some characters?

When you then save the Document, the characters that you have entered on the initial screen are overwritten and the next internal number is assigned to the DIR.

When repeating the same in CV01N it allows you to leave the Document field blank and the next internal number is assigned even before you save the DIR.

Is this standard behaviour now in the PLM WEB UI where the DIR has an internal number assigned in SPRO?

Regards

Gary

Hi Christoph,

The current configuration settings of the DIR for the Number Assignment is set to 5 'External Number assignment without number range check'. When this configuration setting is changed to 1 'Only Internal Number assigned' the behaviour in the PLM WEB UI on create is exactly the same as in the GUI transaction CV01N.

We have also found a user exit BADi ZDOCUMENT_NUMER01 has been implemented that in the SAP GUI this is being called to get the next document number but not being called in the PLM WEB UI.

Do you know if there is a similar User Exit/BADi that can be utilised in the PLM WEB UI to mimic this behaviour?

1889479
1994908

1981989

Best regards,

Christoph

Gary,

The configuration in T-code DC10 should be the same with the traditional CV01N and the PLMWUI-Create Document screens. Can you please verify that you do not have a custom "Number Exit" for the document type defined for the document type?

You will be able to create a document in PLMWUI Create Document screen leaving the Document Number field blank.
