Hi All,
Can any one of you confirm me that on which date keeping as a date depreciation will be calculated.i.e on capitalized date or ordinary dep start date which is given in dep areas or posting date when we purchase an asset. please consider all scenarios.
regards,
Vasanth.P
ordinary depreciation date
this is determined on a combination of asset value date and period control

Sir,
MY client policy is that, if the asst is purchased in the first half of the month i.e 1to 15 of june then the dep. should be caluculated for the month of june. If he purchase an asset in the 2nd half of the month i.e form 16-30th june it should caluculate the depreciation in the next month. i.e July. Will u please tell me how to configure this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
When you create an asset you can fill in the depreciation start data manual.
If you don't fill this than the depreciation start date is based on the capitalization data (first posting on the asset) and the period control rule in your depreciation key.
In the depreciation key you fill in the prd cont rule
There are standard rules and you can create new ones (transaction OAVS, OAVH)
