Problems with Sorting in Crosstable

As per

We too expect all columns to be sortable but it is only the first column that sorts?

I have tried by using the sort icon or the context menu and both give the same result?

Sorting is enabled for the table. The user wants to be able to sort by whichever column they choose so its not something I can predefine.

Hi Alex - I can sort, no problem - this is a screenshot from my sandbox - should we compare versions? I am using 1.6 SP4.1 on this one:

I am using Version 16.4.0 I applied the sort to Material and Customer and as you can see both are not in any sort of order.

OK, for clarity, the notification appears sorted, but material isn't?

Yes correct.

I can see what is happening now, It seems the sort is being applied by the first column.

I have created a new DS and Table. When trying to sort the item column it seems it takes the first column into account too. I would expect that the item would show all items numbers that are the same rather than item numbers in order by sales doc.

You can see below that the Sales doc numbers don't change but the item order does. If I wanted to just sort by customer for example I would have to move the customer to be the first column which isn't as user friendly as I would like.

My first guess is you are looking for the advanced sort, such as Mike has in his SDK/blog: - correct? Where you select multiple columns and then sort?

Hi Alex,

As "Tammy" said is correct. It looks like material and customer has been sorted.

Kindly make sure crosstab property, sorting has been enabled,

Hi Both

I don't want advanced sorting I just want whichever column I select to sort to be sorted on. I think the default crosstab is almost setting up a hierarchical sort which is not what I would like.

I have raised an Idea for this now as I believe it should be standard functionality.

Vidhya, I have this enabled already as mentioned above.

Tammy, I have tried the Advanced data table before, this is excellent for sorting but bad for displaying measures

My Decimal places in the query are ignored, I do believe I highlighted this to mike before but cannot recall his reply.

Hi Alex,

Did you find a solution for this? I am in similar situation.

Do we need to layout data in crosstab manner rather than be vertical table?
