Capacity Planning:

Display informative and accurate reports about how much capacity has been allocated to any given Portfolio Item and compare it to the planned and actual headcounts for a specific period of time by Capacity Groups and Capacity Categories. Capacity Planning delivers its business content in a pre-built InfoCube called Capacity Planning, from which you can generate intuitive analytics.

The system displays the requirement and availability data of the resources and their loads as a percentage. Alongside the resources, the system displays information on the products, the order quantities to be produced in each period and detailed information on dates and quantities.

From the capacity views, you can start the Alert Monitor and the resource alerts, you can access graphics and go to sequencing.

Capacity Levelling:

The capacity leveling function is an extension of heuristic-based planning in Supply Network Planning (SNP). The SNP heuristic run is an infinite form of planning that does not take into account capacities and can thus cause resource overloads. You can use SNP capacity leveling to clear resource overloads by moving orders or partial order quantities into previous or subsequent periods using forward or backward scheduling. In addition, you can transfer orders to alternative resources in the same period.

Hope this helps
