material to material transfer

Hi,

Want to know the T Code for this.has SAP made it obsolute ?MM09 ? not seen in ECC.

Question: I have gor one material and has sold it for last 6 months.

Vendor has changed the ingredients of the material but still all the features will still remain the same.

Material Number has changed now so a new material number has been created and subsequently sold in the market also.

when I need to have Sales report on this new material system should also consider the history of sales covering the earlier material.

I know it sounds funny but any suggestion are welcome.

I was thinking of material to material transfer kind of thing.

Not so sure..

regards,

Hi,

Go to change mode of material master of the old material (MM02), go to MRP4 tab.Fill in the information in the section "Discontinued Parts". This should let you run a report with both old and new part numbers.

General Business practice is to not change the material number if the BOM changes. As long as the final product is same as the old one, we keep the material number intact and change only the BOM.

If this solution does not work, only other option is to create two reports.

Hi,

Thx for that. Will it fulfil my requirement if I maintain the different material in MRP4 view of the parent materials supported by other settings such as discont indicator and the date from which to be discontinued.

How can I get a combined sales report by simply putting the new material number ?

If it is linked to the old one then will it show up.I tried that but it did not.I tried T code MCTC for that.

Please suggest
