when we r doing the scenarios with rfc and idoc adapters,how do we know which one is the better opt.......because both are from r/3

Hi-

We use proxies, when you design new integration scenarios in SAP systems which are based on Web AS 620 or higher.

We use these adapters, when you want to use existing interfaces (IDOC, RFC) or you want to connect SAP systems based on 4.6 or lower or third party systems.

Actually you have a third option <b>Proxy</b>.

Basic rule of thumb,

1. Asynch processing - use Idoc's if standard Idoc's are available else use Proxies.

2. Synch processing - use Proxies is SAP is on WAS>= 6.20 or else you need to use RFC's.
