Regarding number range

Hello,

We have 8 plants and we want to know by seeing the production order number, to which plant it belongs.

We want production order number range such that the initial 4 digits are plant code and remaining as the counter.

(We can do it my assgning different order types to different plants...but we do not want to do this.)

Can anybody tell me how it can be done?
