xss customization

Hi

We are on ERP2005.We are using customized ESS components and now we are updating nw2004s and ESS.I realised that the webdynpro code modifications needs to be handled seperately. So can anyone suggest me how to handle the modifications using nwds? or is there any tool to compare the code.
