I had a similar question a few days ago, but unfortuatelly it is still not answered to my full satisfaction, so I'll try it again 😉
Some facts:
- We have a source system and a target system
- On both systems we are on EP7.0 SP10...
- We have a test user that is not member in any group and has no further roles beside those described below
Now the scenario:
On the source system we created a role Role A defined as entry point. It is assigned to the test user. The permissions on the role are not set to Everyone or any other group the test user is in (as the user is in no group). Anyway the user can see the role as entry point.
On the target system we created a similar role Role B. It is assigned to the same user (still without any further roles) .The permissions on the role are not set to Everyone or any other group (see above). Like on the source system the user can see the role as entry point.
We transported the role Role A from the source system to the target system. The permissions of the role are the same as for Role B. We assigned the role to the test user. But the user cannot see the role as entry point. When we set the end user permissions of the transported Role A explicitly to the user then he is able to see the role.
That means that the systems seem to differ between roles that are transported and roles that are created on the same system. Has anybody made the same experience? This seem very strange to me. Is this a bug or a feature and if it is a feature, can I disable it?
Kind regards,
dominik
