Open Text ECM file upload - drag-and-drop v file browser functonality

I'm trying to work out if the behaviour in scenario 2 below is a bug, a deliberate design decision by OpenText, or a configuration error on my behalf .

1. When adding a file to Open Text ECM Business Content via "Add Document" menu path, if a document of the same name already exists, then an error "[An item with the same name '...' already exists]' is reported.
2. When adding a file to Open text ECM business content via the drag-and-drop-method, there is no validation that a document of the same name exists, and it is overwritten by the new file. You can see that the time stamp changed is changed, and when you view the file, you see that it is the new version.

I'm running

• SAP BASIS 702 SP16 and the following Opentext module:
• OTEXBAS 1000_700 SP2 - OpenText Archiving and Document Access
• OTEXERP 1000_600 SP0 - OpenText Archiving and Document Access
• OTEXERL 1000_700 SP2 - OpenText ECMLink
• OTEXVIM 750 SP3 - Vendor Invoice Management 7.5
