My company is considering Cloud Planning. Currently we use BPC. We have quite a bit of scripting and when problems are too complex we write BADIs. I regard the scripting as being primitive and the BADI's have the disadvantage of requiring us to pass them off the ABAP team. Will the new Cloud Planning provide a better programming interface? Where can I find details on the syntax and abilities?
The current capabilities for scripting is limited to the model account dimension, and includes a limited set of functions or expressions. You may find the details in the Online Help manual, found here.

I am hopeful that as the product evolves, there will be a new, well designed UI for building calculations for applying to the In-memory models, but that may be well into the future. Where you will see an ability to "manipulate" data will be by using the Value Driver Tree and the Allocation capabilities. These areas actually build physical values in the model, while the account dimension modeling would all be "real-time" in memory calculations. A big difference from the current SAP BPC manner of planning.
Hope this helps.
