IT 169 bonus contribution not calculating contribution when bonus paid in regular payroll

Hi experts,

We have configured our US payroll benefits so that employee pre-tax and post-tax contributions are calculated based on the contribution percentage set for employee in infotype 169. The system is calculating the contribution (on bonus amount) fine when the bonus is paid in offcycle. But when we payout the bonus in regular payroll run this contribution is not being calculated. The bonus payment indicator (in payroll benefits integration) and pre-tax bonus and post-tax bonus indicators (in benefits customizing) are all set. Technical base wagetype is mapped for bonus wages. Why is bonus contribution not calculated in regular payroll run?

Hi Experts,

I just realized that bonus tab in IT169 is referred only for bonus payroll run in offcycle. So in regular payroll run the contribution percentage maintained in bonus tab is not considered. Has anyone faced a similar problem, if yes, then how did you overcome the same. Any alternate configuration or approach is welcome.

We solved this by creating separate savings plan for bonus with separate earning base which cumulates bonus wage types. This way even when bonus is paid out in regular payroll it is cumulated in bonus earning base and hence contribution is calculated from bonus savings plan correctly.

The bonus tab in IT0169 might not be populated. I am experiencing the same issue currently and when I populate the bonus tab, it works. Now I am looking at why the Bonus Tab does not get populated like the Regular Contribution Tab.

Benoit,

You may want to look at a user exit to automatically populate the bonus tab based on the rate entered into the regular payroll tab.
