CG02 :Enhanced Value Assignment Tab

Hi Everyone,

Is there a way I can possible enhance the value assignment tab in transaction CG02?

I want to input a document number in DIR column. After saving it, If i click the DIR number it will go the CV03N which display the document number. Can this be done?

Or Any Ideas, where we can add and view the DIRs in a Specification.

Hello

i recommend to use the "user defined text" option. With some Support Package/ enhancement package SAP has improved a lot here. So you can now "link" in user defined text easily to DMS key. If i remember correct: Situation can be as: you have the document stored on client (Windows OS level). Than using CG02 Edit mode and VAT you can use User defined text to "navigate" to local Windows folder and do a direct upload in DMS key. This is really useful !

I can not recommend to use the "phrase" option. This is possible from technical point of view but not really the best option.

The Issue is more: to have a document in DMS and linked it to a VAT is one part of a potential story, But in most cases.

1.) you would like to "output" the document somehow

2.) you would like to search for the document

etc.

Therefore: there is always a need to "link" the document to VAT instead to link teh document to spec header (as with inbound documents)

Here: SAP is delivering a "standard search" for documents in user defined texts.

Pay attention on corrent defintion of DMS, EHS customizing etc.

Hi Castillo,

There are couple of ways we can attach documents

- Use objects links in DMS and link the specification header as object integration option and link the DIR

- Use the tab User defined Texts / Docs, you have the option of defining the document type you may be interested to attach. it is a standard function and can be used to load the document with different language combinations.

- You can use custom characteristic with CUSTOM Function module replacing C14K FM used to retrieve phrases with a new custom code to read DIR records to show in the VA.

First two are standard out of the box and do not need any development whereas third one needs development.
