grid in inches fields in twips

I find it extremely difficult to place fields accurately in Crystal Reports. The grid is specified in inches, but field positions are in twips, so if I use the grid, things never line up exactly. This forces me to stop using the grid and productivity plummets.

Also, if I use twips to set the Left property of a text box, for some reason I must add 60 to the computed right edge of the previous field. For example, I take the Left position of a box, add the Width, then add 60, and that gives me the Left position of the neighboring box. This is bizarre, but is the only way I can get boxes to align precisely. In a rational world, the Left property of a field plus the Width gives the right edge of the field, and hence the Left edge of the neighboring field if the desire is for them to touch edges.

1 inch = 1440 twips Google search TWIPS, you 'll find the history and how they work...

CR references the top left corner for each object.
