Delivery of Sales BoM

Hello Experts,

When a sales BoM (LUMF type) is delivered, the system makes it possible to split the components (stock materials) into different deliveries by giving only a warning message. Could this be controlled?

Hi,

If I have got your question right, you are making sure the components in a BOM order are not delivered partially.

In order to achieve this make use of the Create Delivery Group field in the item category configuration screen.

You use a delivery group to determine a common delivery date for all the items that it contains.

Guess I did not phrase my question right. Delivery group stuff is already checked and the system allows it to be split. It gives only a warning message. Message VL 089. And the system does not allow it to be configured as an error message. Is there any other way that we could accomplish this?

To prevent this behaviour apply SAP note 72688, this the only way I know.

Thank you Roberto. That clarified SAP's approach to this issue. In the OSS note they mentioned VL01 but NOT VL01N!!

Just curious, does it apply for VL01N too? Which one are you using and is it working good for you?

VL01N is better because VL01 was deprecated. The note works for both.

I usually use VL10* because gives a better overview of the shipping process to the user.

Hello U V,

BOM delivery can be controlled at the item category level configuration.

<b>Go to VOV7 - item category TAP - under bill of material - mark 'X' for "Create Delivery Group"</b>

This will ensure that all the items in a BOM gets delivered to the customer at the same time without a delivery split.

In Item category defination

Bill of material config

If u want to create a common delivery date for the order qty along with bom items

Create delivery group use indicator x

If u want to send the materials as soon as any materials are available use indiacator A

if u do not want any delviery groups leave it blank.
