Error in WAD 7.10 (Release 2004S)

We are trying to open the existing Web Templates (created in 3.0B) in WAD 7.10 but we cannot do so. It is not showing anything under the 'Roles' tab and

it does not get any objects when we search using 'Find'. But if we use

the WAD (SAP BW 3.x) we can still see them.

Has anybody faced this problem before?

Hi Rajib,

You need to migrate it before you see the old template in new WAD.

In new WAD, under tools, there is 'Migration' tool, use that to migrate your old templates to new.

Hi Rajani,

Am i right in saying that BEx Web Applications in which certain customer-specific enhancements (e.g. Table Interface, custom Java-Script) were made cannot be automatically converted with SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI WAD. Manual adaptation might be necessary to ensure the proper behavior of the web application. Thanks for the information.

Hi Anil,

Not only for complex templates, even for simple templates (just with one analysis item) you need to use migration tool.

A migration can be triggered if a 3.x web application is opened with the SAP Net Weaver 2004s BI WAD.

Hi Anil,

Migration of templates is not as same as queries, you need to use migration tool.

You cant open your old web templates in new WAD just like that, only after it is nigrated you will be able to open.
