What is re-generating role

My client is upgrading the Bw 3.5 to 7.0

He has given me a list of Roles and he is telling me to regenerate it.

Pls let me know what is regenerate

Is it just opening the role save it and generate it

Hello Balaji,

After every upgrade you need to run transaction SU25 in order to reconcile the authorization changes that have occured in the system due to upgrade. It is not just for upgrade but also at the time of fresh installation. Run Su25 steps 2A to 2D.

Alternatively you can go to PFCG as regeneate the roles as suggested by Juan.

Hi Balaji,

When you move roles from one system to another you need to regenerate the roles...

Go to PFCG and click on Utilities -> Mass Generation -> Then click on roles and execute this will show you a list of the roles that need to be generated then just execute again..
