Is there a product that will capture data changes to an ASE database and ship them to a non-ASE database. The data changes need to be transformed before being shipped to the non-ASE database. Example, if a row is inserted, updated, or deleted from a table, and action and datetime needs to be added to the data being shipped to the non-ASE database. Ideally, the solution would be able to insert data into the non-ASE database.

The short, quick answer: Yes, you can replicate database changes via a) SAP/Sybase Replication Server (SRS) or b) SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) replication server.

The longer answer: It depends ... for SAP applications you may be able to use SLT ... for SAP and non-SAP applications you can use SRS for replicating into RDBMSs via ready-to-use modules (eg, MSSQL, Oracle, IQ, HANA) ... you may be able to use SRS to replicate into other RDBMSs via user-supplied customizations.

SRS is quite flexible in how you replicate data, eg:

- you can convert DML statements into stored proc invocations

- you can mask/drop/modify DML statements

- you can add/modify data to DML statements

Obviously (?) it would help to know the name (and version?) of the non-ASE database(s) you're interested in.

NOTE: I don't work with SLT; if you're looking to replicate SAP application data you could try posting to the SAP Landscape Transformation replication server tag for more details/ideas/suggestions.
